Family Accounts

There are two functions that are found under the Utilities Menu that pertain to family accounts only. Move Money to Family Account Move Money to Family Account allows you to move money from student accounts to family accounts in one easy step. In order for this process to work properly, each family must be linked to students. Only students with proper family ID numbers will have money moved from their account. Students accounts that are not linked to families will remain the same. To move the money, SL’09 preforms they type of deposit necessary to zero out the account. Positive accounts will have a negative deposit preformed against them and negative accounts will have a positive deposit preformed against them as a way of getting the account to zero. An automatic deposit will then be preformed on the family account to reflect the transaction against the individual account. Accounts are not updated until a deposit report is run. To begin the process, select Move Money to Family Account from the Utilities menu and press the move money button on the window that appears. Making a backup before performing this process is highly recommended. Updating Family Account Numbers Updating Family Account numbers is a fast way to link students with families. By pressing the re-index button all students that have been assigned to families will be re-indexed with the proper family number. This should be done after entering all the family accounts.
